In collaboration with Vanessa Fawn Colburn, MS, LPC-S, Certified Sandtray Therapist, this workshop was provided at the Student Engagement and Retention Wide Professional Development Retreat, Del Mar College, Corpus Christi, Texas, in July 2024. Dr. Powell shared her expertise on the relationship between relational health and compassion, while Fawn brought in her sand tray expertise to personify burnout, deepening our conversation with this amazing team!

Remediation can be empowering: Demystifying the remediation process
Presented at the 2022 Texas Counseling Association Professional Development Conference in Dallas, Texas, and the 2022 Texas Association for Counselor Educators and Supervisors Mid-Winter Conference in Arlington, Texas.
In this workshop, Dr. Powell lends her unique expertise as a relational supervisor engaging in gatekeeping practices with supervisees navigating professional dispositions. This workshop is designed through a relational framework to teach attendees how to prepare for the remediation process while empowering supervisees toward growth.
